As nouns the difference between sensation and emotion is that sensation is a physical feeling or perception from something that comes into contact with the body; something sensed while emotion is a person's internal state of being and involuntary physiological response to an object or a situation, based on or tied to physical state and sensory data. If you are feeling angry, sad, unloved, lonely, left out you must do something about it. Background: Feelings are often labelled as positive (happy, confident, joyful, brave, etc) or negative (sad, scared, hurt, angry etc). Feelings, Needs, Body Sensations Lists . Asking the client to recall these horrific events for a mere 5 sections, they feel the physicality of stress in stomachs, shoulders, chest and elsewhere. Sensation Language describes these physical feelings using words based on the five senses (taste, touch, smell, sound, sight). It is important to not confuse sensations with emotions.
